What is your impact?

post-default

Each of us has a story to tell, moments to experience and a difference to make. March is Women’s History Month! It’s the perfect time to celebrate the impact women have on the world.

When we replay the greatest moments in history, we see stories of women who faced countless challenge yet overcame them to inspire all women to move forward towards the prize. Women like Amelia Earhart, Susan B. Anthony, Rosa Parks, Sandra Day O’Connor, Malala Yousafzai and many others displayed grit, bravery and a fierce passion for change. They made the conscious decision to take a stand for themselves and for their community, and they made an impact. The determination of strong women like these enabled women to vote, attend college, serve their country and become CEOs.

It is easy to be inspired by these women and yet discount our own ability to make an imprint on history. All too often, we doubt our power and ability to make change happen. “I don’t have the resources.” “I’m too young; no one will take me seriously.” “I’m not well-known enough to make a difference.”

To be a woman of impact you don’t need to be a celebrity, go viral on social media or have the masses know your name. You just need a cause, knowledge base, the desire to see lives changed—and a good dose of confidence.

This month, reflect on the women who have changed your life personally and those women who have impacted the way society views and treats females. Use those role models as inspiration to make your own positive impact on history. We each have a voice. It is our responsibility to use it. Go out today and make an impact!
