How to Keep in Touch with Your KD Sisters During the Summer

post-default

Believe it or not, summer break is here! Without school, exams or other pressing activities, summer break is a time to relax and have fun with family, friends and sisters. Although your schedule may be lighter, your sisters may not be nearby to spend that free time with. Below are some ways you can stay close to your sisters this summer no matter the distance.

Facetime with your sisters. Do you miss talking to your sisters face-to-face? Thankfully, Facetime is just a click away! Facetiming your sisters is a great way to keep in touch when you can’t be there in person. Bonus points if you are both wearing your favorite KD shirts while video chatting.

Highlight your sisters on social media. As always, capture photos of yourself doing an interesting activity osnap some when you meet up with a group of sisters and send them to your chapter’s VP-PR! Your chapter’s social media is a fantastic way to stay connected with your sisters during the summer. There is nothing better than seeing photos of their bright smiles to remind you of how special your sisters are to you.

Meet up with a sister. Do you have a sister who lives close to youArrange a time to meet up at a local attraction or restaurant. Don’t forget to snap a few photos to share on your chapter’s social media!

Utilize your chapter group message. An easy way to stay connected with your sisters during summer break is to utilize your chapter’s group message. Check in with your sisters occasionally and see what they are up to!

Take a trip. When it comes to summer traveling and vacationing, inviting a sister can make all the difference. Just hop on a plane oload up the car and you’ll be with your sister in no time! Are you taking a trip with your family instead? Send out a message in your chapter’s group message to let sisters know where you are visiting and when. You will be surprised by the number of times a sister ends up visiting the same place as you are

Connect with sisters at convention. Are you attending Kappa Delta’s National Convention? You will have the opportunity to meet sisters from chapters all over the country. You’ll feel more connected with Kappa Delta than ever before!

Have your chapter start a pen pal system for the summer. When is the last time you received a handwritten note? There is something special about tearing open an envelope addressed to you and finding a personal message inside! You may even want to include sisters who recently graduated. Don’t forget about the sisters who celebrate a summer birthday. Send them a nice birthday card or shout out on social media so they know you’re celebrating them from afar.

Whether you are Facetiming, sharing a meal together or spending an entire day with your sister, staying connected with your chapter during the summer is important. Before you know it, you’ll be back with your chapter in the fall and feeling more connected than ever
