Building Confidence and Inspiring Action in the New Year

post-default

Believe it or not, 2019 is here! A new year brings a fresh start, and the opportunity to incorporate new habits into your daily routine. How do you plan to build confidence and inspire action this year? We’ve got a few ways to get started if you haven’t made up your mind just yet!

  1. Reflect. Whether 2018 was the best year ever or one of your hardest on record, there are valuable lessons you can learn. Spend some time intentionally reflecting on the past 12 months. What were your highlights? What made you laugh? What broke your heart? In what ways did you grow? Scroll through your Instagram feed or old calendar notes to refresh your memory and reflect on what defined your year. Cherish your favorite memories and journal about things you’d like to change.
  2. Make it personal. It may seem like everyone around you has a New Year’s resolution or has chosen a word for 2019. Those are incredible motivators – but make sure your intentions for 2019 are about you. Don’t feel obligated to join a gym if that isn’t what’s most important to you! Maybe you want to spend 2019 writing more or calling friends more regularly. Or maybe this is your year to look beyond your desires and volunteer with a local organization with a mission you value. Whatever your focus, be sure it’s personal.
  3. Be intentional.  Whether you are setting a goal for 2019 or you’re working on a new budget six months from now, success doesn’t happen on accident. Write down your goals and how you plan to get there. Plan your days around the activities that are most important to who you want to be.

While it doesn’t take a new year to set new goals, it does provide a natural break for you to reflect and plan ways to seize all that 2019 has to offer. Go confidently!
