Start a New Chapter

How Do I Start a KD chapter on my campus?

This is one of the most frequent questions we are asked by individuals, college Panhellenics and KDs-both collegians and alumnae. As Kappa Delta is committed to national growth and strength and providing young women with a positive sorority experience, we eagerly welcome inquiries about ways we can expand our sorority to your campus. Starting new chapters is one of the most exciting things we do!

However, as a member of the National Panhellenic Conference, Kappa Delta Sorority agrees to abide by a certain set of "rules" that all sororities must follow in order to remain a member of the NPC. These rules govern, among other things, the process of beginning a new chapter on a campus. NPC has termed that process "extension."

The National Panhellenic Conference has an Extension Committee that is designed to assist universities with the process of starting new chapters or creating a new Panhellenic system. You can contact the NPC administrative office at npccentral@npcwomen.org to be put in touch with the Extension Committee to start the process on your campus.

If you are a local sorority that is not affiliated with an NPC group and would like to be affiliated with Kappa Delta Sorority, you can contact Kappa Delta and we will be happy to answer any questions we can about the process.

Good luck!
