Kappa Delta Foundation Funds Educational Opportunities

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Kappa Delta Foundation is pleased to announce the collegians chosen to attend the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI) and those who will serve as interns at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

The foundation will sponsor six Kappa Delta collegians to attend UIFI, an annual five-day institute for fraternity men and sorority women to explore, define and improve their leadership skills, personal awareness and commitment to their fraternity or sorority. They are:

  • Juliette Dean, Phi Epsilon-Colorado State
  • Jade Martin, Theta Epsilon-West Florida
  • Nilofer Rajpurkar, Theta Nu-Purdue
  • Bailey Thornton, Delta Omega-Mississippi State
  • Ena Walker, Eta Psi-North Carolina/Charlotte
  • Katie Webb, Beta Mu-Bowling Green State

The foundation will provide funding for four interns to receive hands-on training in orthopaedic research at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. The 2016 interns are:

  • Samantha Arroyo, Gamma Epsilon-Florida Southern
  • Laura DiRienzo, Epsilon Rho-Rochester
  • Emily Peters, Epsilon Tau-Clemson
  • Wendi Wang, Sigma Pi-Albion

Additionally, the Kappa Delta Foundation will sponsor two Kappa Delta collegians to serve as interns for more than 100 adolescent girls, ages 11-13, at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum’s Art and Leadership Program for Girls. The 2016 interns are:

  • Remy Enoch, Beta Alpha-Virginia
  • Kassandra Mestemaker, Sigma Kappa-Ohio State

“The foundation is thrilled to give Kappa Deltas across the country the opportunity to develop and enhance their leadership abilities, positioning them to be the best leaders possible for their chapters and the greater community,” said Kappa Delta Foundation Chairman Bonnie Warren. “These opportunities allow members to develop life skills and build confidence in themselves and others.”
