Orthopaedic Research Internships
Karen Hasty, PhD, (Alpha Epsilon-Tennessee) an acclaimed professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, is offering the opportunity for Kappa Delta collegians to serve as summer interns. Interns will work on a basic science research project in arthritis in a research laboratory 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, under the supervision of faculty and trained research personnel at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Additionally, they will participate in a weekly research data conference and journal club and will attend Orthopaedic Surgery training conferences given by UTHSC faculty from Campbell Clinic, an internationally recognized orthopaedic clinic.
The Orthopaedic Research Internship is a great addition to KD's long-standing support of orthopaedic research through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Applications will be available soon. Please note that upperclassmen with science or biomedical engineering backgrounds are preferred applicants. Housing will be provided by the foundation and interns will receive a $1,000 expense reimbursement during their time in Memphis.
