How do you join a sorority?
As a member of the National Panhellenic Conference, Kappa Delta follows agreed-upon rules that make recruitment fair and consistent for all women. During the recruitment process, potential new members have the opportunity to meet members of different sororities on campus. It’s a mutual selection process that allows potential new members and the chapters to decide on the best fit.
Every college or university has different procedures for joining sororities, so your first contact should be the Panhellenic or Sorority/Fraternity Life Office on your campus. Go to the website of the university you are attending and find the link to the Sorority/Fraternity Life Office. Often, there will be information on how to sign up for sorority recruitment. If the website doesn’t provide that information, there should be a phone number or email address to contact the office.
We encourage you to check out the sororities on your campus to determine which is the best fit for you. Whether you decide to join KD or another sorority, you are sure to find a place to call home. We wish you good luck and best wishes for a successful recruitment!
KD does not tolerate hazing!
It goes without saying that hazing is in direct conflict with Kappa Delta’s values. Hazing has no place in the lives of those who strive to build confidence in women.
As a member of Kappa Delta, you can be assured that you will be treated with kindness, humanity and dignity. The national sorority has a strong stand on hazing and absolutely will not tolerate hazing of any kind in any of its chapters.
Hazing is defined as any activity, action taken or situation created, whether on or off sorority premises, that has the reasonable potential to produce mental, emotional or physical discomfort; embarrassment; harassment; or ridicule. Hazing is strictly forbidden by sorority policy.
If you would like to report hazing activities, please call the hazing hotline at 1.888.NOT.HAZE (1.888.668.4293).
